Why Selling in September Is a Smart Move

The property market in Wembley has been very active since the first lockdown ended. And even through the traditionally quieter months of July and August, it’s been ticking over.

Why Selling in September Is a Smart Move

But we’re expecting a September home selling surge. Why?
Well, a couple of factors make September a wise time to put your home on the market.

They are:

  1. Schools are back. With the kids back to school, many people start their search for a new home. And while getting in before Christmas may be challenging due to a backlog in the conveyancing (the legal side of selling a property), many are now looking to move by early 2023.
  2. With the summer holidays over, the minds of people thinking of buying are more focused on their future moves. This makes mid-September a great time to put your home up for sale to capture the opportunity of all those potential buyers.

These four tips will help you hit the ground running in September if you are considering selling.

  1. Get three agents around now to give you a valuation based on comparable evidence (this is a very important point).
  2. Prepare all the paperwork required to sell a home (we can help with this).
  3. Sort out any odd jobs around your home that might put people off. You’d be surprised how off-putting potential buyers find even the smallest of unfinished jobs/repairs.
  4. Don’t be shy/afraid to ask any of the agents you’ve called to explain their plan to sell your home and why they are the best option for you.

Meet Abigail

Hello, my name is Abigail, and I am the Grey in Grey & Co. I started working here in 2002 as a Junior Negotiator and have worked my way up the ranks since then. I took over running the company in 2014 and have been enjoying the roller coaster that is leadership ever since.   During my 20 plus years at Grey & Co I have dealt with the sale of over £100,000,000 worth of property and overseen the management of assets worth £250,000,000 for clients around the world.   I also had the pleasure of working with my father, the founder of Grey & Co, for 15 years before he sadly passed away and from him, I learnt the work hard ethic and our values today are still the ones that he founded the company on all those years ago.   Be Remarkable, Be Passionate, Be Humble and Be Better.   As a community centric boutique family agency, you couldn’t find a better partner to take with you on your property journey.
