10 Small Acts of Kindness That Make a Big Difference

START

Random Acts of Kindness Day is designed to encourage all of us to get into the habit of doing good things.

The theme is: Together, we can make the world a better place, one act of kindness at a time.

We’re planning to join in and spread the love throughout our local community.

Here are some simple ways you can join in:

Top Tip. The simplest and cheapest acts of kindness are often the best. They’re much easier to do and encourage others to join in, too.

·     Say good morning, good afternoon or even just ‘hi’ to everyone.

·     Pay someone a compliment. ‘You’re looking great today.’

·     Give someone a small gift – such as a chocolate, a flower, or a coffee.

·     Praise a colleague. ‘Hey Jane / Jim, you’re an amazing estate agent, probably the best in the entire history of selling homes.’

·     Offer to do an odd job for someone who would really appreciate it.

·     Go shopping for an elderly neighbour. Or walk a dog for someone who’s ill.

·     Help a charity. Donate or offer to help them out with something for a few hours.

·     Leave some small change somewhere for someone random to find. (If you’ve ever found a pound coin, you’ll know how great it feels.)

·     Listen. If someone is having a bad day, listening to their problems and empathising is one of the kindest things you can do.

·     Think. Before you complain, argue or snap at someone. And hold fire. Sometimes you can be kind by doing nothing.

·     If you’re selling your home, slash the price by half, sell it to the first person who knocks on your door with a bag of used notes, and go and live in a tent on a Caribbean beach.

(Well, we’re only joking with that one. But wouldn’t it be the best feeling ever? For the buyer, anyway.)

Here’s the really amazing thing about random acts of kindness: They spread right around the world in ripples.

If you pledge to carry out three random acts, and some of the people who benefit carry out three random acts, and so on, and so on, that all adds up to billions of acts of kindness.

One day, when you’re in need of a random act of kindness (and let’s be honest, we all are sometimes), they’ll come back and benefit you.

Random acts of kindness are infectious, and they’re great for your mental health.

Spreading the word is a random act of kindness, too. So, if you know someone who might like to join in Random Acts of Kindness Day, please share this article with them.

Meet Abigail

Hello, my name is Abigail, and I am the Grey in Grey & Co. I started working here in 2002 as a Junior Negotiator and have worked my way up the ranks since then. I took over running the company in 2014 and have been enjoying the roller coaster that is leadership ever since.   During my 20 plus years at Grey & Co I have dealt with the sale of over £100,000,000 worth of property and overseen the management of assets worth £250,000,000 for clients around the world.   I also had the pleasure of working with my father, the founder of Grey & Co, for 15 years before he sadly passed away and from him, I learnt the work hard ethic and our values today are still the ones that he founded the company on all those years ago.   Be Remarkable, Be Passionate, Be Humble and Be Better.   As a community centric boutique family agency, you couldn’t find a better partner to take with you on your property journey.
